 MONTHLY SPECIAL    August 2007
I am the original owner, the car is in very good original condition, but needs fresh paint. Raced once at the Bonniville 1/4mile race track in Utah. Turned 13.1@105, stock from the factory.

At the age of 18 in 1968 I got my first real job and was looking for my first car and I wanted it fast good looking. I looked at SS's, GTO's, Vet's, Chargers, 442's, you name it and I checked it out. As my father I have always been Ford men so I decided that I would get a Mustang with the new 428CJ engine. I went to a dealer that was located about 30 miles from where I still live. They had about 6 CJ's on the lot and they all looked very cool and I could not decide on the one I wanted. A salesman told me he had another CJ I may like at another location, so we hopped into a fast- back CJ and went to the other lot. My CS was sitting next to two other CJ's and the moment I laid eyes on it I knew my search was over. I gave them $200 to hold it for me until I could a loan from my credit union. Back in then it wasn't easy for an 18yr old to get a $3700 loan, but I did it, and after waiting a few months the CS was mine, and still is. The salesman that sold me my CS lives about a block up the street, still sells Fords, and has been a good friend for over 40 years.

The first picture was taken in 1969 of my CS, my Mother, and me just before I shipped out. The large top pic was taken in 1973 when I returned to work after serving in the US Navy.
