We drove up to Parksville (about an hour and a half north of Victoria) and attended the "Ford Spring Spectacular" show and shine hosted by Joe Cunningham Ford and organized by the Vancouver Island Mustang Association based out of Victoria.
We finally had an opportunity to meet "Bill" and "Tanner" up there, since he drove up to the show from Washington State. We had a total of 3 GT/CS Mustangs at the show, plus a 1967 coupe that had been cloned into a GT/CS replica. Bill did well and beat us out for the Best 67 / 68 Mustang trophy, so congratulations to him!
We also got a chance to meet "Pete" from Port Alberni, who has a Candy Apple Red "J" code automatic GT/CS. I knew of the car, but had never met the owner before. After a quick comparison we discovered that his car is only 15 VIN numbers higher than our car! (161311 and 161326) It is also a B7 DSO code (Pacific Canada), so was likely on the production line near our car. We also discovered that his car has a recessed gas cap mounted about 1/2" deeper than normal, so with such a high VIN number (early July production if it was on the line with our car), maybe these recessed gas caps didn't only go onto early production cars? (I also posted that info tonight with some more photos of Pete's car on the thread that mentioned the recessed gas caps recently in relation to early production cars.)

Looks like it was a great show. Congrats to Bill, he beat out some tough compitition. The deeper tail light panel is just a conformation of what I have thought, there was not a early version but some defective panels or poor installations. Marty
