well, that was alot of fun,
if you ever get a chance to go to a road course, don't pass it up!
you don't have to be a racer, you can go what evre speed you are comfortable with.
it was set up as a one lap timed course. they started after the wall on the front stretch, and ended it before the wall. meaning you weren't racing next to any wall. if you went off the course you were in dirt not into any concrete walls. 40 to fifty cars, mostly late models.
gt 500's, a supersnake, many shelby gt's, a saleen or two, two brand new 2010 roush 427r's, three people rented track school cars (race tires and brakes).
in first place a local named doug with a gt500 tweeked a bit, he goe's out to the track a bit, with 100. something, in second place with 103. something, a nobel or noble????? ford v6 twin turbo. looks something like a lotus. real lite ( 2000 lbs ).
and in third place with 105. something a 2008 gt/cs blue with white stripes.
i almost fell out of the chair.
it was a blast, we got two practice laps and waited for the second and third groups, and then took two more practice laps. you would do one lap and then get back in line.
so we had 6 or 8 practice laps and then did two laps that counted for the awards.
on my second practice lap, about 3/4 of the around, i was coming into a jog around cones and then into the corner and woo hoo!!! no brakes!!!!
the cones were buried with honors, (no color guard, weren't avail. on short notice).
and i had to learn to race without using my brakes much. tricky!!
we were on the east half of the track, 2.2 miles - the front stretch, so 1.9 to 2 miles i would guess i did hit 100 miles an hour in one spot for sure, the rest of the track i was too busy to look.
friday was a cruise to snow basin ( where some of the olypics were held) for lunch.
and saturday's car show on main street. it rained until 12:30 and then the sun came out and it was nice.
the car show awards were different this year ( not mca ) and the trophy plaques were " awards of excellence" not real sure where i placed, they said there wasn't any placings.
?????? kind of different
lots of nice people from all over, texas, vegas, colo. etc.

Needed an in dash camera

To catch the look on your face when you figured out you had no brakes!
:)
Seriously though- nice job! You sure have a fast machine there, and some skill to get her around the track with!
