air show

Looks like you are going to have your airshow. We had our airshow in june This is the first time in 71 years that i went there. We were up their in june ford mustang had a beautiful area there were 72 ford mustangs most of them were Shelbly's and newer ones.
This was done by invitation only so i had a chance to bring 2 of our cars to the show most of the cars were shelblys of some type. carrell was going to have a private showing but he got sick But he never came back. so we were all disappointed that he was sick, but we went to Las Vages in this Sept took a tour to the Shelby plant and it was nice to see one tour per day at 1030 am
Mon thur Fri.

...Here's a few pics from the pylons. 'Had a fantastic week of sitting in the sage, looking up and enjoying great food, people and thrills! This is what keeps me driving the Mustangs I can't afford to fly ;-)

Great pictures Tim! Gets my hart pumping just to see them. Do you have a pilots license?

...'Closest I came was an AOPA ultralight certificate in 1985. We did the normal ground school, trained in two-seat Quicksilvers then soloed in a Pioneer Flightstar. It was an absolute blast! I have a whopping total of 36 hours solo time! With starting a family and not having the finances to fly often - I opted to "keep my heart pumping" on the ground vs in the air ;-) I still go flying pretty often, tho with friends in mostly warbirds. Earlier this summer - I came real close to hocking some Mustangs for part-ownership and instruction in an Aeronca L-4, but once again decided that part-time flying carries too much liability without deserved dedication...

Tim;
Come here. We'll teach you to fly, get your private pilot rating. And maybe swap a Cessna 172 for a GT/CS !!

Tim here are some picture of the airplanes we have had. The first plane I restored 1959 Cessna 150. Then a 1956 Cessna 172. Our last was a 1968 Cessna 172 with a 180 HP converson with child seat. Child seat was need to make a four place a six place. We sold it in 2000. It sure makes me miss them when I see your pictures. Like you we now have Mustangs. Marty

...Hey Marty, those are really neat! Thank you! It's no wonder you are so thorough and knowledgeable on Mustangs having restored airplanes. I see it in Neil too. ...Gosh, that fourth pic with the parachutists and fastback!.. You have a wonderful family as well :)

My dad had a 150-horse Citabria and my older bro, a C172 when I was a kid. He went on to fly P-3 Orions in the Navy, then certified in corporate jets and flies out of Denver, CO today. Looking back - I sometimes wish I had a pilot's license, but my history of "spreading thin" would've been detrimental I believe. I'm instead blessed with sharing the "dream" with wonderful folks (like you) and returning in kind with Mustangs wherever possible... Funny how life goes sometimes ;-)

Here's a few from our flying past :)

Great pictures Tim!! When were those taken?

And, as always, wonderful pictures of the Reno Air Races. Almost puts you right out there on the pylons!!

I had a amazing time in Reno!! Seeing all the planes and spending time with all the folks that I usually only see once a year in Reno. Can't wait until next year!! I already put in for the time off work!

From my security post I get a great view of the planes taking off and landing. Here are a few pics that I took...

...Renee, those pics range from the early '80's to early '90's.
Indeed Reno was a blast! How I wish we could convey the whole experience w/ sounds etc... other than saying it was thrilling as SAAC-35 track events, tho in the air ;-) I didn't shoot a lot of people pics this year 'cuz I loved being on the course so much! 'Glad to see you & TJ got your usual post :) "Dinners & parties at night with our "Mixed Nuts" group was likewise awesome! The gang here should also experience your karaoke talents ;-) Perhaps at the next Mustang social!
Here's a few more from my post...
