1968 Attaching GT Trumpet tips to exhaust?

All,

I am having the GT Trumpet tips installed on my GTCS. I have the GT valance installed and ready to go. My restoration guy informs me that the tips are attached to the exhaust tubes by clamps. I know the tips are of stainless steel and the exhaust tube may or may not be (I don't know) but did they really use clamps to mount the tips? Seems kind of hokey to me.

Thanks,

Robert

mine are welded on.....to be specific, I have angle cut quad tips with no valance (immaterial) but the tips are welded to pipe....clamps also seem hokey to me.

Thanks Mike, that does make sense, just didn't think it was right. Cool, I left a voicemail with them and will get the parts on order.
One step closer.....
