Hello all, i just won a Cali Special off ebay. As its not quite in transit yet, i have the vin and data plate info to share for any input you guys have. One thing interesting is it is a heater delete car. Also has no aircon which i don't mind. All the other numbers match...vin 8R01J156548. Data:65A-I-2G-07B-73
73 from Salt lake city so it's feasible it was a heater delete? Had a friend who has 4 gtcs cars study the listing and couldn't find anything alarming. Not in the registry yet. As i'm new here i'll try and post up the listing pics....thanks guys!

P.S. anyone recommend a cheap transport? Enclosed obvoiusly lol...

Congratulations!

The green one from Minnesota? It looks like you got a good car at a great price.

The best way to find out how your car was ordered and built is with a Marti report.
http://www.martiauto.com/reports2.cfm
The standard report costs only $15 and you will get it in a few days via email.
It's also the only way to authenticate the car as a true California Special.

Since it's not in the registry please send Somethingspecial the VIN and data plate information and we'll get it entered.

Thanks and welcome!

PS, who is the friend with 4 GT/CSs?!!!

Thanks Mosesatm...yea the ivygold one from Minnesota. Didn't realize Marti does a cheap report, thought they did the Elite and deluxe only. Yep that will be my next thing to do-15 bucks Marti by email thats great. Soon as the car is delivered i will send Somethingspecial the info for sure.

Yea my coworker has currently 2 in the garage but has had 4 total. One in the stable now is a manual shifter gt/cs (burgundy colored) ...which should be rare? don't know if he martied it tho or if they even made them...mabye i ask if he registered them here.

Thanks for the welcome....i'm pretty stoked!!! Ed.

We have production figures broken out by engine and transmission so if your friend wants that information we can post it.
We don't have it broken down to engine, transmission, & color yet but we're working on it.

There is also a new GT/CS recognition guide.

I saw the car on Ebay looks nice. Welcome to the family, there is a lot of help here. Where are you located? Next month we are having a GT-CS and HCS gathering at the MCA national show in Concord CA. If you are close please think about joining us there. Marty
