What are you hoping to do with your Mustang in the next year? Any major projects or restotation work? A new paint job or interior?

For my car, I’m thinking about those LED lights and hopefully around 1,000 miles of seat time this summer. ;D ;D

I haven’t driven my special that much in the 10 years I’ve owned it. :-[

Folks, this will be a big year for our Project car. We MUST get it finished by March 1. It is entered into World of Wheels. Then, enjoyment :D. In short, GET IT DONE!!

Brian, what about putting in a tach? Paul hopes you will take him up on that offer.

remove and rebuild the rear end. Clean, seal and repaint the underside. Paint the dash and interior, do the cut in painting, then send the body back to the body shop for final sheetmetal fitment and painting.. then its time for assembly!

I've got a 2005 GT/CS Registry book to work on in the spring.

This time, I'm using the money from it to restore my 400,000 mile CS.

Wish list: Shelby 5-spoke wheels with CS caps; Sidewinder Shelby Intake for my 390, Edelbrock heads, JBA headers <?>, a toploader and 3:50 rear end, and fuel cell. I want to put "CS Shelby" logo FE valve covers and oval air cleaner, too. I "might" put on a blower, but not sure, since the power curve might not warrant it.

I got a few minor jobs to do on my hcs. Some things that should of been during the restoration period. Like replacing the shifter bushing with a console in. Another item is replacing my windshield . I'm looking for a Ford tinted one. Any help would be appreciated.

IF you wish to look for one, the '68 Windshield is different than the '65-'67 type. The '68 bows out more at the top, and is not a straight slope like the '67.

I don't know if any of the dealers know this, because they are only too glad to sell you one for '65-'67, and want to talk you out of getting a specific '68--like "you don't know what you're talking about...".

Believe it or not, my 400K CS still has the original windshield.

--Just a FYI--it's up to you what to look for.

[/quote] hey, Tom and gang, this Colorado Mustang Specialists, Inc. here in the Denver area, ph. 303-343-7024, has the GENUINE CARLITE WINDSHIELDS for 64-68 Mustangs for $125.00. I did it. This I found listed on their site at "Colorado Mustang. com" for the above price. Take time to scout their salvage yard on this site as it will just "blow you away. Bob

First off - pull the rear and get it rebuilt to include traction loc along with a good bead blasting and repaint. Redo the brakes. Am thinking of all new seat covers since I just pulled the originals and redyed them this past summer. They just don't look right. And last but, not least new stereo system.

I need an opinion from some of the site members - take a look at the picture below and tell me if you guys/gals think the L-60's I have on my green GT would look right on the CS. I have an extra set and hate to see them wasted. The GT looks good with them but, I have my doubts about the CS because of the difference in the tail sections. Your opinions are appreciated.

Thanks

Don Potter ???

I called a glass installer here in Kansas City and had them quote me a price on buying and installing the windshield. With the price they quoted me, it included the Carlite windshield which they say is in stock here in Kansas City. Looking forward to getting that put in after we get our new headliner installed.

Hey Paul, keep in mind that the new Carlite's have different lettering/wording than the originals. I could have bought a new one for $200.00 shipped but it wouldn't have been technically correct anyway, and I didn't want to spend $400.00 for a reproduction. Just something to keep in mind.

Thanks Steve. How goes your project? Are you getting there?

We are still waiting on our interior. Hopefully soon. Then front and back glass, then a final buff, then stripes and rocker panel moulding, then we should be good to go!! Can't wait.

I am so close it's killing me! I need to repair the steering wheel and console, get a new dash pad, find some door lights and speakers, order about $50.00 worth of little things I forgot and I'm done.

Bite your tongue my friend, you will never be "done" It's funny that way, after you think you are done, something won't look pretty enough. At least that's the way it is for me ;)

Me too, that's why I decided to replace the dash pad. It looked fine with the old interior, no cracks, just a little warped and faded. Then I put in the new interior and thought, "Oh God, that looks like crap". At this point, everything else is new, including the package tray and window crank knobs so I hope I'll be OK.
