1968 Who came up with the term:Poor man Shelby?

As many of you know know the California Special is also known as:" The poor Man Shelby" Does anybody know who came up with that term?

I know that our Transportation Design class at Art Center College of Design was using that term when the GT/CS came on the market in 68. I don't know who originally "coined" the term.
