Anyone got a few close ups of a factory 289 water pump? I think mine may be a replacement, but am not sure... no date code I can see and oddish looking casting number that look after market.

How available would date correct (late 8B or early 8C) ones be?

My old MCA guidebook says: fan, fan pulley, crankshaft pulley= Black. Harmonic balancer= natural or black (I like natural for the harmonic balancer).

I would choose painted black ;) Never seen a natural one and believe this natural description is a left over from past sheets where some judges had found them rusty :0

The Shelby sheets do not list the option of either finish and the engines for both were assembled at the same place ;)

Just a suggestion - not sure when the 67-68 rules will get corrected :(

Yeah - it doesn't look original. The original will have the FOMOCO on the front. Here are a few photos of the two different styles I have - the early C5 part only has 3 gussets and the C6 has 5. I am not sure, but I believe that the C6 is correct for all the 68 289/302's

So i bought the C8OE-J water pump. so my C6 might be up for grabs.
