I'm finishing up rebuilding my 3 speed top loader. I noticed the "wavy washer" in the shift linkage control box is broke. I checked all the local hardware stores and auto parts stores, but no one has one that's big enough. It's located under the spring that keeps pressure on the gear tangs (see photo). I can buy a complete rebuild kit for $60, but I only need the washer.
Can anyone tell me if the 4 spd toploader has the same size washer?
Any alternatives?
Will I notice a difference if it's removed?
The washer has an ID bore of 1" and OD of 1.5"
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
