1968 Console wiring question/HELP

my new car needs some work. So, the console lights in rear and cubby have power (with test light) and new bulbs. But do not work. Am I missing a ground??

what are these for? the spade is hot

The spade is the Ground for the lights. It should NOT be hot.

Neil, where does it plug in?

There's a spade receptacle on the console rear courtesy lite, in between the 2 wires for the bulbs. Make sure the wire is grounded first- not hot

This spade and plug in are at the front of the console. The lights at the rear of console do have a spade plugged into them (using a mirror and standing on my head. I could see a little)

OK. I grounded the spade to the dash and the lights work now! Thank you Neil!!!
