Mustang & Ford GT/CS Cover Story - November 2009

The November issue of Mustang & Ford magazine (formerly Mustang & Ford Trader) has a 68 Acapulco Blue GT/CS on the front cover.

The GT/CS is the featured car this month.

Nice car with Shelby wheels and steering wheel. Is it someone's from the site?

A few quotes from the article:

Fuel For Thought
  • One of the coolest Mustangs ever built
  • Could have been ordered with a six-cylinder (but who would? <- from the article not my commentary)
  • Often mistaken for a Shelby
  • High fun factor
What to Pay (based on prices from Classic Cars and Parts Price Guide, fueled by NADA

1968 California Special
  • MSRP - $2,652
  • Low - $10,850
  • Average - $17,900
  • High - $31,100
Under "Books"
CT/California Special by Paul Newitt (as spelled in the article )

This site is also listed as a resource.

and my favorite...

Review

Unlike basic Mustangs, the California Special offers the privilege of driving a limited-production car that is moderate in price and easy to maintain and restore. Today, many enthusiasts know little about it and the fun begins when owners attend cruise nights and the questions begin.

----------------------

Also in this issue is coverage of the Mustang Roundup and All Ford Picnic.
(Amy, how many Mustangs do you get at that show?)

They don't have it online.

Here is the site for the magazine

I haven't had a chance to scan it in yet.

Please scan, I would love to see the article given that I have an Acapulco Blue GT/CS here in Australia. I purchased it exactly 1 year ago today in Northern California and it's right hand drive conversion is almost complete. All mechanicals are done, engine is back in, all I need to finish is the interior.

I also have a Shelby steering wheel (replica) and am considering swapping the 12 slots for 15" Shelby 12 spokes so I would love to see photos of a car the same colour as mine with the wheels I am considering.

Thanks for the intro, Rich!

Mustangs Northwest is pleased to host the MCA Grand Nat'l show in part with our annual Roundup show. July 17th & 18th.

BTW I don't see this magazine out yet at Barnes & Noble.

ISO well behaved, dependable, and determined CS.

My Garage
It was a good read, but I saw errors throughout the article. They didn't even have the correct pictures for the "Alternatives". I also wish they hadn't picked a car with a digital dash and an earlier Shelby steering wheel for the article. They also should have mentioned the importance of a Marti report and the proliferation of clones. All in all though, it's good to have more exposure.
