GT/CS at Barrett Jackson Lot 9040

My thoughts exactly. With all of the press coverage that the GH had in 2006 I beleived that is was being primed for the BJ auction. At this late date, I would have to say that it's not going to go this year for you would want to give the potential buyers the time to scrap up the million-plus...

    Just joined the registry

Welcome aboard! First thing, don't discount that your block is not original because the third letter is an "A". A "C"-code Mustang in 1968 would have a casting code of C6AE-6015-C if a 289 block was available (they ran out in 68 and had to use 302 blocks with 289 innards!). That you have a...

CS: YOUR Percentage of Mustang vs. Shelby

Paul, In 1969 when I was 8 years old and living in Redondo Beach, CA, I watched a candle-apple red CS drive by on Catalina Ave and for me the most distinctive part of the car that I recall today was the duck-tail trunk lid. I asked my dad what kind of car that was and he didn't say Mustang or...

    Question?

They are basically the same except that the 68 has the side markers mandated for safety reasons.

    A Red "Green Hornet"???

For those of you that have the latest issue (Nov 06) of Mustang Monthly, can you go to page 78 and verify what that red 68 coupe is? Its got the Marchal fog lights; all of the Shelby fiberglass / badging and the side stripe looks like "EXP" which would be EXP-500. If it is a "Green Hornet"...

Southern Cal? I heard of a couple of restorers...hmmm? Chip Foose? Boyd Coddington? They may be a bit pricey but being in Southern Cal you have a wealth of auto restorers to choose from and I'm sure someone can give you a lead on a reputable shop. Cheers!

A Surprise for Green Hornet EXP-500 fans

Hi Martin, Couple of questions that you maybe able to answer or Paul might know; First, what dash emblem is used above the glove box? Second, I haven't found a good pic that details the emblem used on the vinyl (behind the qtr window)...does it say "Shelby" or "Cobra" and is it one or two...

    Red Eleanor Convertible

Rhonda, I'll let my neighbor Dave know how you feel about his ruining of a 68 vert:wink: All kidding aside, Dave is an artist when it comes to working with fiberglass and you really have to see the car in person to truely appreciate what he's done to the car. The vert was a "C" code with very...

My 68 coupe is for sale on Ebay, it was on the cover of John's Mustang 2005 catalog

Jason, I saw on your Marti report that your car was built on Jan 22 1968 and has a vin of 134453 which is really weird since my car was built the next day at the same plant and has a vin of 131333. I know that this happen but a difference of over 3,000 has me scratching my head.

    Rear Window Trim

Looking at the Assembly Manual for the 68 Mustang, they list the part as: C7ZB-6542478-9 which would inidcate that the molding carried over from 67 with no change. Looking at mine, which is from a car that had a vinyl roof, the bottom hole matches up to the one that is not attached Arlie's car.
