Just so everyone is on the same page, I believe the pics posted are for Non power brakes. the power brake dist block is different. So, be certain you get the correct match for your application. Brian

    Scoop Stripes

Casey, I think it may be just a visual thing. The top Cobra shops actually "adjust" the width of the stripes to make them "appear" straight. I am not an artist, but it has to do with Perspective. So, if our stripes are exactly the same width the entire length of the car, they may "appear"...

    Rear Valence Replacement Question

68 fan, If you have not yet painted the valance, then now is the time to drill the holes to make the fit. If you have a freshely painted valance, please be careful when drilling the holes. Use a center punch so the drill will not go skidding accross the fresh paint. As well, we usually put...

    Stance

I will also add that all of the tire shops/sites will have the tire height listed for the various tire sizes. We did look at that when we bought the tires. In short, if you need two tires, check the height of the different tire sizes when you go to buy new ones. Brian for P.

    Stance

The rims are the standard 14 inch argent wheels for the car. We sand blasted them down to bare metal and I primed them in our garage. After the priming, I sprayed them with what I thought was the correct Argent color that I bought off the shelf. They are a little dark, but we were ok with the...

    What Dealership Sold Your Car

Paul, our car came from Lloyd Noller Ford in Topeka. They had the rights for this part of the country for the GT/CS. (as reported by any old how). Noller also had the dealership for Shelby. Brian

    Air shocks

Here are my two cents worth on Air Shocks. The rear shock towers (not the correct term, but where the shocks hook to the rear underside of the body) on our car were badly cracked and broken when we began our restore. To the point we had to rebuild them completely with fabricated material. We...

    Kansas City DSO

Steve, Cool :D, I now know of three of us in the KC area. I have heard of more and heard of one in St. Joe. So, there are some GT/CS cars around here. Let us know if we can be of help. We have pics of our resto and are willing to offer help, as did folks on this site, to those interested in...

    GT/CS Exhaust

When we did our resto, we used stock dual exhust and put the rear valance for duals on. We bought the kit right off of ebay from a guy that offers the exhaust kits at about $150. Includes the H pipe. We have the long tube headers on our 289 that has been sweetened. The mufflers are the...

    Taillight Help Please

I can tell you that I remember us fighting this for some time. If you are going to switch, then to me, go new. Paul and I found a set that fit perfectly right on the "Help" section, had the new spring, worked right out of the box. The trick was getting the old ones out. We got advice on this...

    The body work has started

Mustang, here is the story that was given to me. In retrospect, it makes sense. The metal goes through the media blast process. It opens the pores of the metal. The metal will corode quickly, but as well, anytime you touch it or the metal comes in contact with oil, that oil will inbed itself...

    Why Clone?

Hook, as a guy who owns an AC Cobra "Replica" or clone, I can tell you some of the motivation. Money. One of my first car loves was watching Bob Bondurant and the boys racing on Wide World of Sports. My Cobra is as true to the original as I can afford. But, I am not fooling anyone and say so...

    Pics for Paul's new book

Paul, if my brother Paul and I can help with pics of our restore, please let us know. We would be honored and delighted to be included in the book. I will let brother Paul tell you, but I suspect we have over 100 shots of our car from rust to resto. You are welcome to any/all of them. I...

    The body work has started

Mustang, just curious, is your car still naked from the media blasting? Please be careful as rust begins almost immediately after media blast. Should have a spray of self etching primer applier to the bare metal to keep it rust free. Yes, its more work/expense, but it is real inconvenient...
