Another suggestion while you've got the instrument cluster removed... ...replace the ammeter gauge with a voltmeter gauge from rocketman.

I did the same thing... Retrogauge mini-tach where the clock goes and an upgrade from ammeter to a Rocketman voltmeter. Keeps everything looking stock and makes folks in the know do a double take :wink:

I'd vote for a black vinyl top as well. I've always liked that look. Also reminds me of the "Little Red" Shelby... have you thought of maybe adding a hood scoop as well?

Not sure how far along you are, but if I were doing a clone I would do one that exactly replicated (externally) either: (1) A "Little Red" Shelby clone or... (2) A "Green Hornet" Shelby clone (a bit more work but what a GT/CS should have been IMO) With resto-modifications of a 347 stroker...
