1968 Wires in Distributor

Could someone help the two wires in the distrib were do they go i know one goes to ground and points that is the short wire but were does the other wire go to it is about 10inchs long Thought i could remember but i guess that dont work any more Tom

One wire exits the distributor and goes to the coil.

thanks for the info but were does it go in the distrib and just to make sure the small wire goes to the ground then to the points? Thanks Tom
