1968 Other Factory Special Edition Cars

Another site member and I were discussing special edition cars the other day and I we couldn't think of any other car that was customized to the extent of the '68 GT/CS - HCS.

Other than Shelbys (I consider them a separate model) the closest I could think of are the Superbird/Datona race cars with the elongated nose and huge rear wing.

Can anyone think of any other special edition cars that required as much factory work as our cars?

Some of the Aussie Holden Toranas got quite a bit of tweaking, fender flares, rear spoiler, modifeid engines, etc...

A9X and GTR XU-1 are two that come to mind....

Some of the Ford Falcons here back-in-the-day also got some tweaks. Phase I, II, and III GTHO's. But they were more performance bits than the visual fiberglass on the GT/CS.

I think it was called the Laguna S-3?

Pontiac had a version of that car that used the Trans Am shaker scoop.

I am pretty sure that swivel bucket seats were optional in those years GM cars.
