Oh my God!!! How cool is that!! I would think that "fast" is not a strong enough term. "Frightening" would come to mind!!

it is really cool, not an annoying whine but just enough to hear it. the clutch and tires will probably need upgraded. cruising in town is tricky, you don't use much throttle.
on the freeway it really sets you back in the seat. the milleage has dropped (20-25) but it did that with the cold air intake in the beginning, and after awhile came back to 24 - 30

ok i checked out the limits last night. me and a fiend went and i got some info:
two people in the car 550 hp whipple, in first gear stock tires spin a bit but have some tracktion, 2nd gear tires roast all the way to 6000 rpm , slight fish tail, but no problems. 3rd is just g's and wide open eyes. fourth is more of the same and it hits 140 mph in 4th gear and 6000 rpm, gov comes in at 150 mph in 5th
just in case anyone was curious

Wow!! Can't wait to install the Weiand Supercharger on mine. This winter!!! I won't have 550 hp, but will be a bunch lighter and have 3.70 gears. 110 mph should come up very quick!!

this is the 50 state legal 550 hp super pack from ford racing. i think they upped the horse power for marketing purposes from 500 to 550. one of the setbacks was the epa made them use the factory lid. it has a carbon paper glued to the underside. whipple and ford racing had to design the intake system around that. the lid is the only stock piece used. the k & n air filter is open to the bottom side, and don't try to go to a parts store to get a replacement, you have to get it straight from whipple.
in july i talked to ford racing and mentioned that i paid for mine in jan 08 and that i'm waiting and not going to roush or saleen, that i'm sticking with frod racing. and that it would be nice if they could give me a perk for my loyalty. i asked for a price break or a blue powder coated one. they got approved a "mecury blue" (whipple's color) don't think anyone else will get one, they were real reluctant on doing it for me.i'm trying to get some documentation on it from ford racing. these kits have serial numbers on the compressors.
