1968 Neutral Switch Bypass

If you find yourself with a busted neutral switch, don't have a new one handy, and need to get the car running, connect one red wire to the other red wire in the square 4-contact plug that leads into the firewall.

I discovered this when I converted Val's Fastback from an automatic to a 4 speed car. Would not start..... Once I unplugged the neutral lock out switch.... Car no start. Had to jumper the wires.....

That is basically how Ford did it too.

This is the original wiring pigtail from my 1968 Cougar with 3 speed manual transmission.
