My car was originally lime gold with ivy gold interior. It had a black stripe. Ok, Ok, please don't slam me for the candyapple red repaint. I've heard enough already.

Steve;
Why would anyone slam you for a product improvement??
I've done a couple in Candyapple Red - they were knockouts.

Neil: It was a long time ago, here on this site and it's almost forgotten. Just didn't want to open a can of worms again. Yep, I agree the candyapple is a "knock out!" Not knocking any other color at all, it's just my favorite.

I happen to be partial to Lime Gold, ivy interior and white stripes.

If the car has black stripes, I think it looks best with the black vinyl top.

(I too, love "resale red".)

My GT/CS was my first car, still have it 43 years later. Paid $800. Featured in the May 1998 issue of Mustang Illustrated.

So in other words,it can be both: white and black or is there anything that determines the color of the stripe?

If your car originally had a vinyl top, the stripes would match the top.
That is how I understand it from other Ford/Mercury applications.
