That makes sense, and after my last debacle, I definitely will have an inspection done prior to my next purchase.

I also agree, a S-code GT is awesome. A low mile S code barn find that has no issues for around $20K would be the perfect find and project for a resto!

I cannot wait.

Travel and inspect first hand (it is most of the fun). Bring a magnet, icepick, compression tester and you will be way ahead of the game. I personally would not trust anyone except for a well known, by me, agent to inspect on my behalf.

Also, with the S-code, I believe you can find them with a factory toploader if you want the thrill of the shift ; you can also do a bolt on, easily reversible, conversion to a T5.

OOPs, serious brain fart, I am actually thinking about a J code vs X code (when it comes to drive ability). If you want a 390 car go for the S code.

BTW, dunno if you are specifically wanting a GT/CS 390 but there is an S code with GT package (not GT/CS) with auto trans on ebay ad says they have a Marty (should be Marti) report.:

Most sellers won't disclose their Reserve amount, always hoping the bidding will surpass that amount.
I wouldn't put a bid on it until you or someone laid eyeballs on it first. (8 days remaining on listing)
Then if you think its worth it, put in a bid of $30K and see what happens. You can always 'up' your bid if you deem it worthwhile. IMHO

Is anyone in the area that is willing to go check it out? I don't why I wants to know so much about this car, it just seems like an awesome and unique GT/CS

If they are also selling at the dealership, shouldn't the be willing to say what they would want?

Careful, anyone who is considering bidding on it the high bidder's stats below are a bit fishy!

The High bidder has never won/paid

Also he only bids on cars: Bay Motors >

eBay Motors > Jeep 1 Seller 19 6d 21h
eBay Motors > Land Rover 1 Seller 20 4d 1h

Hello all. As you can see from my website I'm not a big wheeler dealer car dealer. That being said, I have been in the auto repair business since 1987 and do have a WI dealers license and I do sell some of my cars from time to time to be able to acquire others (mainly Mustangs). If I could afford to keep them all I would but unfortunately that's not the case. I am also going to be listing my 70 "show car" that I've owned since 06'. Anyways, I'm much more of a collector than a dealer and am by no means a salesman but I do take pride in my vehicles and when I do sell them try to be as honest and upfront as possible. As far as EBay goes, I do use it to bring traffic to my website. I do not manufacture bids and have in the past had to cancel bids on some of my vehicles do to people playing on EBay. In this particular case the high bidder did contact me about the car and has made a genuine offer on it that i'm not willing to sell it for. It's a very nice as advertised X-code GT/CS that is a straight up, honest car. I really don't have to sell it as it's a very unique vehicle and truth be told I would much rather sell my 70' than the 68' as I'll soon be acquiring a 71' 17,000 mile Boss 351 (and possibly a 193 mile 94 Cobra Pace Car) so in my world (and Garage) somethings gotta go. Anyway's, if anyone has any questions or would like more information on this or any of my vehicles please feel free to give me a call, email or P.M.

Thanks!
B. Lake

Annie- Can you share how you know who the high bidder is? Ebay hides the bidder ID's and only the bidder and seller is supposed to be able to see the bidder ID.
