quote from the picture

Walter Flood can count himself amoung the fortunate few when it comes to owning a 68 California Special with a big block engine. Of the 4025 GT/CS hardtops built, only 54 were powered by the S code 390 with a C-6 automatic transmission. Now in Brooksville, Florida, Walter's CS is 3000 miles away from its namesake state. "not restored but presentable" is how Walter describes his Mustang, which is Presidential Blue with white stripes.

Kinda cool to see another 390 CS with a C-6 in a magazine. Now on this issue of only 54 made. I was under the impression about 85 were made with the 390 and C-6. Do we have anyone that can CONFIRM the stats on this? Speaking of that how is the Marti stuff going on the stats? Any update from Marti?

I have been bugging Kevin for the last month (once a week) to give me a quote - I emailed him a detailed RFQ, which Paul refined, about a month ago. I am told he will answer me when he is ready. As soon as I know something, I will let you know. Casey

don't forget to let me know when the numbers come in so I can send some $$$ your way (it was my idea in the first place so I guess I have to throw in more than my share). 8)

the 4025 cars and 54 S code/C6 numbers were estimates based on regisrty info from Paul's book, way before Kevin Marti had access to Ford records with exact production numbers

Did anyone find out the final numbers on the 390 S codes? I don't have one but am interested in the numbers like everyone else.

Still working on it with Kevin. We are still working out legal issues on this amount of data. As mentioned, I am limited to moving at his pace which is slower than I know the rest of us want. But, he is willing to provide the data. Casey

How did Marti ever get control over so much data? Why can't ford just give out this info?

Another thing...I can't understand why it takes 6 months to get one of those super Marti reports.... It sounds like only a couple people are doing all the research

...Maybe Marti should get some more help if he can't keep up with the flow.

I'm sure he could get plenty of volunteers to help out on weekends... ha ha... I'd volunteer...

yes Kevin purchased the data. I have laways though he needs to hire more help. He really needs to reorganize the data. From what I have heard he spent ALOT of time inputting this data a while ago when computers were not as advanced. I asume the data is inputted into a program that cannot be put into another easier format.
