OK, it's time to vote for the 2008 CS.com Calendar. Choose up to 12 photos as your favorites. Remember, you can only vote once.

Because we only had 15 entries this year it will work out pretty well. 1 for the cover, 12 (1 for each month) and then I'll add January of 2009 which will have 2 cars on it. So really every car will be well represented.

To help see the images better I've set up a preview page:http://californiaspecial.com/calendar2008.htm
You might want to print out that page and choose your top 12. Then come back and vote.

I'll keep this poll up until late on Sun Sept 30th. When voting please pay attention to which checkbox goes with which photo. We don't want any disenchanted voters this year!

Thanks to all those that sent in your photos!

Jon, I just sent a photo, but understand if it's too late. I've had too much windshield time and must have let this slip by. Thanks

so there are a total of 316 votes so far with 31 different voters...that is 10.19355 cars voted for per voter...

is it a bad strategy to vote for 12 cars? how come people are only voting for 10 cars on the average?

do you think my picture is too dark? or anything else not good about the picture itself...im trying to learn about photography so im just curious...i didnt take the picture, i had a professional take it this time

my favorite is the white 2007 with the black stripes and the rocks...what a great picture whoever's car that is...

Sam and 1968cal - sorry, but it's too late at this point since the poll has already been set up. Keep those shots for next year though.

Who's car is that at the Golden Gate Bridge? Perhaps another view from three rolls of slides taken for a certain book cover?

Yep that's mine. Original maroon paint, white stripes....about 325K miles at the time. I tell folks that "it's been everywhere twice", even on the backside of the Sierra Nevada on 395 from Vegas to Carson once..

Past years, I was either was too late, or didn't want to seem pushy, so I didn't enter the calendar "contest" before now. But, with the 40th and all....I got the slides scanned and went for it.

I even doctored the same image with "suggested" graphics for the cover of the the '08 calendar..and sent it to Jon (crossing fingers).

Thanks for the votes everyone!! This means a lot to me. I appreciate it.

David, your picture is a cool picture, but I think the same shot in the daytime would've made it better. I think the framing, size, everything else is right on, just a dark car at night doesn't show up that well.

The white '07 picture looks like it should've been in the dealer brochure. Excellent shot! I'd say use that one as a guide of what you're looking for.

I can't answer the question on not voting on all 12 cars.

But personally I like the way your picture came up ... I like that it gave contrast to the smoke, stripes, lights, license plate, etc ... a little lighter might have been good but I kind of like the effect you got out of it.

I agree on that white 07 picture. Awesome shot! I thought it was from a brochure at first and actually went and checked - I thought I saw it somewhere else. Great looking shot! Great work!!!

Paul - we wanted to guess the owners ... not that yours was too hard to guess! Classic shot though !!

thanks steve and rich, i thought it was pretty cool to have a nighttime picture with the fog lights on because its different than all the rest, but it is a little on the dark side...i did try to lighten it up...i guess it just depends on how it prints really...you know what else, if your computer monitor settings are too dark the picture looks even darker...if you change your computer's brightness settings i bet you will see that its not too dark, because i can see everything on my screen pretty clear and yes that 2007 white CS with black stripes is the best picture this year and im definitely going to get a burnout picture during the day sometime in the next year

Yeah, that white '07 shot (#13) was taken by a professional photographer. It's definitely a great shot. If I think about it tonight I'll post the other few shots he sent me. They're all really good, but that one just had an edge to it IMHO.

Hey David,

With just a bit of "brightness", and a touch of "contrast" in Photoshop, you've got your photo.

Just for fun, I added a flare effect coming off your rear tires.

I like the ominous-ness of the black CS--with Fogs blaring into the pavement--look of your photo.

Very cool.

Jon,

Being each car will have some sort of representation due to only 15 entries.

Have you thought about the significance of the poll results?

Are you think of doing it in Vote order (ascending or descending)?

Most votes gets cover, 2nd most gets January, etc ???

Just curious if the poll wasn't going to have any impact on the layout.

Thanks,
Rich
