Plenty of nice cars...

...and other Mustangs, but we had the only GT/CSs.

My sister Sharon suprised us with this cool banner which we displayed proudly at the event :)

A great time was had by all!! ...thanks to Mike, Robinette, Renee and pilot friends Gordon Beatie, Gordon Mills, Glen Ward, Carol Kinyon, Sean & Cathy O'Brien, Tommy Lykens and my wife Frances who all did the honors to perfection! :))

Yes, it turned out to be a fantastic day. The weather was great and the cars were beautiful! As usual, Tim's lineup of GT/CS's got quite a lot of attention!!

Tim, thanks for including me in your "parade" after the show. Although at one point, coming around a curve on Hwy 174, a guy coming the opposite direction was so interested in looking at all the Specials passing that he was not watching where he was driving. He was almost in my lane as I came up on him :icon_pani

It was indeed a beautiful day. It has rained the last couple of years on this show. Robinette and I led the parade from Tim's home to the show (9 Mustangs), and being a mountain area, we never could see the end of the line, (curves and all). It looked like a Mustang Car lot there were soooo many colors to choose from. LOL Unfortuneateley Robinette and I could not attend the run to Colfax, as I had worked the night before, and I had been up for 25 hours+, plus we lost the brake lights on the special. It was a lot of fun, and a lot of beautiful cars. Mike

Mike;
I had the CS out Sunday headed to a show when the fuel pump decided to go nuts on the freeway. Needless to say it got exciting real quick. At 70 mph and the wind whipping the fuel all over my headers I'm sure it looked like a chineese fire drill. :icon_pani
Needless to say I will be replacing this high performance fuel pump with a factory style pump this time. For anyone with any engine don't use the "Mr. Gasket" high performance fuel pump (sold by Jeg's). The rubber seal they use at the bottom of the pump doesn't hold up and when it goes it literally dumps fuel out the bottom of the pump. :icon_pani
This pump has only been on the car since last April and less than 4,000 miles.

Don

How ironic that a company built on making gaskets, produces a faulty seal.

Don, Thank god you didn't have a worse outcome. Who cares if it looked like a Chinese Fire Drill, At least you can laugh about it today. It's to bad they can't load your GT/CS on the plane this August. LOL. It will be a great pleasure to meet you. Mike

Good deal Tim. You'll have to post some more photo's once she get's there.

Don

...You know I will ;-)

Incidently, I drove my green 390 last nite to pick up my daughter from choir when on the way home - a nice sounding '65 fastback pulled along side us on the freeway. We were doing about 50 mph as I thought he was just admiring the CS, so I waved. Suddenly; he goes down a gear and punches it!

I simply pushed the pedal down until it caught passing gear and Man!...
I have never shot past a car like that! we lurched & gained two full car lengths up to about 75mph before I backed off ('wasn't sure if Deputy Mike's friends were around ;-)

I guess he figured I had a 289 like he did... He figured wrong! :)

You gotta love it!! And I'm sure Deputy Mike would take into consideration the fact that you were absolutely provoked.

I guy wanted to race me off the line in my Mach 1 one time. The light turned, I was doing 35 and had left him by the time I hit the other side of the intersection, so I went to 3rd gear and coasted at 35. He blew by me and 2 cops pulled us over. The cop that got me started talking about racing and I said "But I never went over 35! Did it look like much of a race?" He thought about it for a minute, smiled and said "Guess not". The other guy got a ticket, I didn't. Sorry, just had to share that.
