You'll probably laugh, but I emailed the guy for more info. I need another project like I need a tax audit, but that's only about 300 miles from me and only 50 or so from my grandson. I might just have to take a trip if the price is right.

It looks to be the right color! Acapulco baby. ;D

Saw a white with black stripes CS on ebay this morning as well. It looked nice however it had pony badges on both front fenders?

I can already hear the groans but I noticed two things right off that we have discussed recently.

1. The steering wheel is wrapped just like mine.

2. It has a round base antennea, but more important to me, that's the same round base antennea my car has that I thought must have been after market?? I might just have to keep that ugly thing! lol

By running the numbers that car was built with the same set-up as mine, different DSO.
And yes, You gotta love that color.

If it were close, I would go over and check it out. It's not to far off from the condition of mine when I first got it.

Dig the sunroof, shackles and groovy decklid paint! javascript:replaceText('%20:-X')
No front end shot, so can't tell if it has fogs. Looks like it's missing a hood lock to go along with the missing end cap.
BTW, that ugly attenna is the same as on mine, too.

jk89cat, If the car is solid and complete I'd pay $2,500, otherwise it's a parts car.

I noticed that there were no photo's of the front end????? Also the seller stated that "HEALTH ISSUES FORCES SALE," I myself got sick just looking at the condition it was in. Someone is going to have to put a whole lot of time and money into that car to make it right. Something to check out, a couple of years ago a guy had a GT/CS w/390 in Christmas Tree Oregon, the car looked like it was used as a chicken coop. There was some discussions on this site, anyone know what happened to it , maybe its still out there. At the time the guy wanted 10K.... Bluto ;D

I asked if he had the missing extension and hood pin and if the grill and fog lights were correct and there. He doesn't know if he has the parts, the fog lights are gone and he didn't say anything about the grill, as well as whether it had any rust issues. The sun roof would be a pain to fix, but it could be done with some patience. I don't have time to go look at it before the auction ends, and since the guy isn't really giving me much info., I'll pass for now. If it doesn't sell, I may go look the next time I'm over that way, but I don't think it's worth a special trip. Too bad, I hate to see these cars just rot away.

The ad never actually states that the car is a real GT/CS. It says it has, "CS/GT options". With verbiage like that he must be a lawyer.....not that there's anything wrong with that.

Even if it is a clone it has air and a deluxe interior so for the right price it might be a good deal.

Very true, if it is a clone it's a pretty dang good job short of removing the fender badges everything looks to be in the correct place and well done.

Remember that the GT/CS was an option. If you look at an original GT/CS Marti report you will find the California special package under OPTIONS and that is how you know for sure that its atrue GT/CS.

Good point. And, who knows, it may be a true GT/CS but it's really difficult giving someone the benefit of the doubt when his or her car has horses on its fenders and is refered to as a CS/GT. If it's real and rust-free it would certainly be worth a second look. Would certainly need to pull off the horses and fix the driver's side stripe.

I got some more pictures from the guy with the sunroof equipted CS, showing the front end. Oh my God! It has a '66 horse and corral in the middle of the grill. There are fog lights there but the picture quality is to poor to tell if they are the right ones. I see someone is bidding on it, but it ain't me.

Hey Steve, checking out this car would give you a good reason to go back to Yakima for a visit!

A few years ago when my wife and I were driving through that area (her 1st time to Eastern Washington) we saw a highway sign that said (I swear this is true), "Welcome to Yakima, the Palm Springs of Washington". She gave me a confused look I'll never forget. Now Yakima is a lovely place, on certain days, but the Palm Springs of Washington??? The 2 golf courses I want to play in the NW are the one with the apple shaped green in Yakima and, of course, the one with the island green in Idaho. Is that Sun Valley or the Coeur d' Alene?

If the roads in Yakima are salted as heavily as the ones in Omak were years ago I'll bet that car is also badly rusted. Being from a dry climate doesn't always mean rust-free. The shackles and chain license plate frame would be enough to scare me away from it. But then maybe that owner only drove it to church on Sundays.

Yes, it's true, Yakima does call itself that. What were they thinking? I think that everyone that drives through, laughs. The golf course with the floating green is at the Couer d'Alene Resort, about 8 miles from my house. There is another one at the casino in Worley, Id. that was just built that is supposed to be real nice, but I don't golf so I can't give you first hand knowledge. If you're coming up this way sometime, I'll get the info for you. I'll find out which one in Yakima has the apple shaped green for you also. One of my mom's cousins is part owner of one of the courses there and he'd know.

was negotiating wit hthis guy before he put it on ebay, I had a inspection all lined up to be done on it by a profesional next week when he went & put it on ebay.
he told me he has a high reserve set, 10 grand. he is out of his mind, oh by the way, that is his post, 3 lines doen, GT/CS for sale- runnign when parked in 98, so he is on the board & sees your comments, just FYI.
maybe he will come back to reality & lower his reserve after seeing these posts & what people who know these cars are saying about his prices

It's interesting that his reserve is $10,000 but the ad in the classifieds says $7,000. I wonder what the real price is? From the pictures and description I'd certainly say that $7,000 is too much unless it is 100% rust free, and has all the CS parts. Last I looked the high bid was less than $3,000 on ebay. This will be an interesting one to follow.
