Well I will be off heading east down I-80 to pick up the car today and let me tell ya the tension is high. I have never bought a car sight unseen before but I have tried to put myself into a mindset that if it is half as good as they say it is it will be OK. I will let ya know tomorrow how it all worked out Chuck

I bought mine site unseen and had it shipped - didnt see it till it got to my house - I paced the floor for an hour before it arrived. I can tell you in my case it exceeded my expectations. (of course, I did my homework...asked the questions, got the pictures, etc.). Let us know how it goes and send us a picture ASAP. Casey

almost all of my cars I bought sight unseen and the one thing I can tell you is it will not be as nice as you think but stand back and remember that it is a 38 year old car and NONE of them are as nice as you picture in your head.

I can bet not one person on this board has bought a car and had to do NOTHING to it.

I have had the same experience. I bought mine sight unseen. I had pictures and descriptions and a paid inspection from a restoration specialist, but all of that didn't replace my own eyes looking at it after it was shipped to me. As Jason said however, no car will be perfect, and this was the case with mine. A complete restoration is underway. My car is in the shop for paint and body work right now. Reassembly begins soon and am I getting anxious! Good luck with your new project!

I know of somebody that got a 02 Roush 360 from Ariz. sight unseen white with blue stripes. It had 21K miles and I expected to see paint chips on the front of the car . When we got it it was in good shape, no paint chips at all. It's a five speed with a blower.

Well, I bought mine and have had literally nothing to do to it. BUT I paid for that priviledge. The car I purchased was 20 mins from my house so I was able to check it out several times, ask questions, look in every corner, etc. The guy I bought from had about 12 cars in his garage and treated them like spoiled children. He still had an AC Cobra under wraps, and had recently sold a GT500. He was transitioning into old Jaguars.........

I bought mine sight unseen also. For the price we agreed upon, I didn't care how much work it needed. But, I wanted one to restore myself, so I could do most of the work. I was really surprised to find out it wasn;t a rust bucket like the one I looked at that was missing the battery tray, tops of all the fender aprons, both doors, and both rear quarters that I could have crawled through for the same price. I replaced the battery apron and the tops of the rest of the aprons. I don't mind busted knuckles and sweat because thats what I wanted. I'm sure that know matter what the condition, the fact is it's yours. Good luck and enjoy.

Hey Bret, I'm thinking about going to the Monroe swap meet in Oct. Is that a good one or is the one in the spring the one to go to? I don't want to drive all that way if it's just a couple of guys selling rusty Chevy parts.

Hi Steve, I think the the one in the spring is the better one to go to. Most of the mustang parts are dealers who think every part they have is rare. Sometimes you have to look hard and dig deep. Last year I just missed out on a 4bbl intake for $30. The year before I found a Ford hood tach for $80. So, there are some deals, but, you have to look. Have you ever been to the one in Portland, Or.. I've heard you can't go through it in a day. There is also another one in Puyallup, Wa. in the spring. Even if you can't find a deal, it's still fun to go and brouse.

I go to the Portland one every year, and it takes me two days to get it all in. I used to go to the Puyallup one when I lived there, but haven't been in a number of years. Maybe we should all meet up at the Portland one next year.

I'm also a member of the sight unseen club. My car was far from what I was told I was getting and less than what I expected. We were able to roll it off the truck and up into the driveway.
The nicest thing for me was that everything was there. No guesswork.
I'm almost to the point of my restoration where everything I do will make the car look a little more complete.
