1968 Motor and Trans Mounts

The good news: My buddy and I have removed the engine and trans from my 68 J code / C-4 GTCS and according to my friend who is a master mechanic neither have been opened or molested. The bad news is before even opening up either he noted I will need new motor and trans mounts when we go to put it back together. So like any tech savvy person I turned to the various online vendors (NPD, CJ-Pony, Mustangs Unlimited, etc) to shop for the parts. To my surprise I couldn't seem to find a complete engine mount or trans mount kit that appeared to contain everything I would need. Can someone whose done this before point me to a vendor who has complete kits and possibly the part numbers for the kits.

Thanks,
Jim

The mounts are something you can source locally, try your local NAPA store. You can also use rockauto.com, the site is easy to navigate.

Just going to add a little more cam, work the heads and upgrade the rotating assembly. Keeping it fairly mild.

Unsure what's so hard about just buying the individual parts? Kits are a PITA for vendors in this, and similar areas, as it limits stock and increased overheads for those like NPD that actually warehouse parts, not order-as-they-go-and-forward as some of the others do. If someone needs a LH mount and they sell only kits then the request is "break the kit"... two motor mounts, one trans mount, done...???

Kits usually have a lower price than individual parts.

Jim,
I love to help people with mild to wild builds! And of course my favorite is spending other peoples money!!! I have some recent experience in the Comp Cam Xtreme Energy grinds of flat tappet cams. The produce high vacuum at idle via steeper ramps on the lobes that result in a nice long torque curve.

I can even video the engine running to hear the sound, see the idle, and witness the vacuum signal.
