Page 100 of the GT/CS book shows the switch. From what I can see, you have it right. Black wire goes to the lower terminal. Blue/black wire goes to the rear of the two upper terminals and the grey one goes to the front terminal.

Doesn't the new foglite switch come prewired with a connector that mates with the harness connector adjacent to the switch mounting area?

I can't find that in the book. The same page talks about the wiring at the lights themselves, but I can't see anything that mentions which wire is what at the switch. Sorry...

(ops I didnt see your post Neil and only gave you 1/2 the story! ) the previous owner cut the plug off under the dash, so I only have 2 wires coming in and a ground to the dash. Im going to wire a new pig tail plug on, but dont know how the wires go (+, net, grd), once I wire this on, then I can plug the new switch in

the lights work when I hook the power and load to the Black and Blue wire (either combination) but each time I plug the ground in it blows the fuse (grey wire)

so it works if I only use 2 wires and dont hook up the grey

If you wait 'til tomorrow, I have more wiring data @ work. I'm thinking Black=Ground, but I'll confirm.

Thanks Neil!

Arlie, that is a good thread, easy for me to understand! I'll dive back into this tomorrow. I understand how it should work.

The previous owner "re wired the fog lites" disconnect all original wire and switch

1) my ground is to the dash (not fuse box)
2) power is coming from under the hood. Not the headlight switch
3) I do have a wire running to the first fog light that hooks into the switch
4)Fog lights have a wire grounding them to car body

Fogs lights work separate from head lights

Yeah, and IIRC, the fog lights are supposed to exringuish if Bright headlights are on.

I can't believe Ford didn't include a schematic for fog lights. I can't find one anywhere. Wonder if someone on the SAAC site would have info.

Yeah, I looked in all of my 1968 electrical shop manuals and nada. If I had an idea where my parts were located, I could quick go look.

Can you tell me the colors of the 2 wires coming FROM the foglites?
I'm still working on this. I have a list of ALL wire color codes & numbers for Mustangs 1965 thru 1973, and I think I can piece things together for you.

Neil, out of the fog light is a black wire and red w/yellow stripe

ends were cut off, black wire screwed to body, red wire goes into the taped up green wire previous owner ran
