Are these brackets supposed to be natural or painted black for a San Jose car such as ours?

While out at a car show today we ran into a beautiful GT/CS that lives in Nacadoches Texas. Photo attached. While discussing different CS related items we spoke about the shock tower brackets, you know, the caps above the firewall to shock tower brace that holds the top of the shock.

Thanks all

Braces are black like the fender aprons.
They also mount under the lip of the firewall.

The caps (as well as the braces) should be the same satin black as the engine compartment.

Note how this '68 Shelby has the shock tower caps painted gray instead of black.

The grey is posphate and oil plating. That is only correct if the car was manufactured in Dearborn MI. or Metuchen NJ. . If ithe car was manufactured in San Jose Ca. (as were all GT-CS and HCS )they were painted black. This is one of many small differences between asaembly plants. Marty MCA 38812
