I was having problems with my horn and turn signals so a friend suggested replacing the switch in the steering column. So we did that (got the switch from NPD). Everything works except the horn ring (the half circle that hangs beneath the center of the steering wheel) now works backwards. To blow the horn you have to pull the ring TOWARD you. This is the first time I've ever had a horn ring that you pull instead of push to blow the horn. What did we do wrong? My friend swears the way its assembled is the only way it will go back together. FWIW we also replaced he steering wheel at the same time.

Remove it and post pics.

If installed correctly the spring forces the contacts apart, as they mount to the baseplate and ring I can't think of any way to get them in backwards, but would have to go look and see...
