The other day I turned off my CS and took the key out of the ignition but the engine was still running!

Do I need just an ignition switch or the switch with the cylinder and new set of keys?

Rich....ummm.....remember a TV show called "My Mother The Car"?..well....

Actually, the ignition switch may be slipping, or turning within the bezel, and it's so old, it didn't disengage.

If one were to start their car twice a day for 38 years, you've got about 30,000 times the tumblers and electrical parts had to make contact, which doesn't include heat, cold, and dirt.

So, if it's original, you might consider replacing it.

OR...your solenoid is stuck open....<??>

p.s. Jerry Van Dyke say "hi"! <<banjo music in background>
