Huh?

This is a new one on me. You would think by now we would have heard of these GT/NES cars. LOL. Thanks, but I'll pass.

I have never heard of any New England Ford dealership ever offering a Mustang, or any ford car for that matter, as a New England Special. I think if Tasca ever made a Mustang like this, It would have more Bling on the outside and a lot more engine than this car has. Originally a c code car now with a 302. I think some one put this together and had the Stripes made to order. Just my 2 cent's worth.

My take is that it is merely a basic coupe dressed up with a stripe and dash graphics by a dealership. Lots of car lots do that kind of thing.

Maybe someone could pull a Marti report on it and see what it started life as.

I asked the seller if they had a Marti report to verify this car as a New England Special from Tasca Ford. This is their exact words to my question.

No I do not have a Marti report. They were done by N. E. mustang enthusiast to compete with it's west coast only version. I was told that this one was originally done by Tasca Ford for one of their employees. ( I wonder what the West Coast Only version is :).I also e-mailed Tasca Ford and asked if they ever made this car and was told they were not sure but will send my e-mail to some one that could answer my question. They will e-mail me when they get more information. Starting to get a little interesting now I think. As i say, extraordinary cars need extraordinary proof.

That is a Metuchen, New Jersey built Mustang. The "New England Special" lettering on the glove box looks like it was recently applied.
Tasca Ford, may have been the East Coast version of Galpin Ford.

Here is a link to Galpinized Pintos.

Got an e-mail back from Tasca Ford and a employee that has been at Tasca for 20 years said she spoke to a couple of the Tascas and they say no such Mustang was made as a New England Special from Tasca Ford. The seller is telling me that he was told that Tasca made the car for an employee. One heck of an employee to get that honor. Still not a bad looking Mustang.

I read an article MANY years ago about a '135' model discovered in a scrap yard in Spain by a US serviceman.

Bob Tasca Ford Dealership was in Rhode Island, the DSO on this particular car was Jacksonville. If my memory is right, that is in Florida?

Kind of think that if it were a Tasca anything, that it would have a New England DSO

I don't see anything on the Marti indicating there is anything special (New England, Cali, High Country, etc) about it. I think the seller has a decent car he added some homemade badges to in order to get some more money from the sale. Sadly someone who does not know Mustangs will think this car really is a special and will pay more then its worth only to find out after the fact that the car is just a homemade car and not worth the asking price.
