Crazy question probably getting too anal but in reading the GT/CS book Paul published it states that the doors installed and were painted Red primer prior to color painting. I just stripped my drivers door and when i removed the hinges there was body color under the hinges indicating the door was painted prior to assembly and i didnt see much re oxide primer under the interior color when i removed it. I know trunk lid was painted while assembled but what about the doors and hinges.

All I've seen indicates they were on the car when painted. The few I've pulled apart only had rust there!

+1 It is well documented that they were painted with the doors on. It may have been some kind of a factory redo? Marty

I changed mine yesterday and monday and it was rust, no paint. Question we lined up the doors, but the windows are off in the back. Is there a way to adjust the windows inward? Or does the door jamb striker pull it in?

Yes you can adjust the door window. It is best to follow the procedure in the 68 Ford service manual. It is too much to type here. Marty

Thanks. I wanted to get a response here before I asked the guy's at Sherman's auto glass. I will stop by there tomorrow and see if he know's how. They are very knowledgable with the old cars and he even owns a 67 mustang vert.

Dominic;
If your guy doesn't have a Ford shop manual, loan him yours. The window adjustment directions are pretty good.

I thought that hinges were body color but, the bolts that hold them were never painted, as they should be natural.. I remember seeing it in the Mac judges rules. Help?
My point is wouldn't that make them painted off the car rather then on?
