I bought a 68 GT/CS about 3 years ago, I'm not sure if it is a reat GT/CS. This is the VIN 8RO1S147803. The seller claimed this was a 428CJ. This has a big block, but just probably a 390 with "Le Mans" valve covers.

I know this came with a 390, judging from "R" code. I just want to make sure.

If anyone can help, would appreciate it a lot.

Well your car is definitely an original big block, but not a 428. The 5th digit in the VIN is "S" which is a 390-4bbl engine.

We can't tell you if it's a real GT/CS by the VIN, but Marti Autoworks can. See the "VIN Reports" link to your left for more info on that.

Otherwise browse through the "Identification" section and check that you've got all the parts listed there.
