My least favorite job for a Mustang. Detailing the engine compartment. YUK!!! But well worth it in the end!! The FE 427 engine swims in this new widened engine compartment. Kinda a black hole with little bling right now. Time to install a new hydraulic clutch master, roll control, new front brake lines, and the water methanol system for a dual quad!! Looks like I will be using the redesigned Shelby aluminum head with a smaller combustion chamber than the Bear Block Motors heads. So now the compression ratio on this 511 cubic inch stroked 427 FE all aluminum engine will jump to 12.5 to 1!! More is better!!!!

Dudes,
Been gone for a bit! Supply train issues for my new bullet for the 67 Fastback. Well, she is finally in my garage. I have been around many an FE and had a 69 Cobra Jet in the Mustang as well as one in my 1957 2 door Del Rio Wagon. This is my last big HP build for our car. YES, THE LAST!! So, for this endeavor I turned to an FE specialist! FE Specialties in Chiloquin Oregon. Tom Lucas is the owner builder. He specializes in FE building and FE porting.

https://www.facebook.com/FESpecialties

If you go to his Facebook page you will see an early pull on the dyno. And if you page down to December 17th you will see the test stand run! This beast made 759 HP at 7,000 RPM! You need to hear the idle on the test stand. She is "ROWDY" for sure. Just what Rob wanted.

Here are some specs.

Big Bore, 4.375” Shelby Block
511 Cubic Inches
Scat 4340 4.250 Stroker kit
Shelby Next Generation Cylinder Heads
Major reworking on these!!
12.5 to 1 compression
T&D Plate style Rocker Assemblies Some offset
Manley 7/16” pushrods
Custom Solid Roller Cam: 260’s, 270’s .050
BBM Tunnelwedge Intake Port Matched
Two Old School Custom Holley 660’s carbs with Center Squirters

I have a Water Methanol system with plates to go under each carb. This will allow me to run it on pump gas! It will be a very careful dial in to ensure there is zero detonation. I ran this system on my GT/CS with the Weiand blower on it. Worked great. Check out the Facebook page! If you have a "S" code GT/CS and want some more poop, I would highly recommend Tom!!

Installation to start in about a couple weeks!! Exhaust location is going to be a challenge. May need to remove the gas tank and reduce its width to get the exhaust all the way out the back. Not much room for 3-inch mandrel bent exhaust between the gas tank and the leaf springs!! And of course, the required exhaust cutouts near the header collectors!!!

Had to replace the T-Pan with a more traditional deep pan. Headers would not clear the kick out of the T-Pan. Will put the T-Pan on the 40 Ford 427 build. Couple pics of the headers on the new 511 motor. Decided to test fit alot of stuff before putting the motor in. Great starter clearance!! Hope to land it next week!! Been busy as heck and this is going a bit slower than usual. Maybe it is because I am older and slower!!! YA Think!!!! Need to dimple the 5 tube at the oil filter. It is touching. Also need to clearance the scatter shield for the number 3 tube. Work work work!!

Rob, instead of constricting a header tube for the oil filter, what about using a remote filter?

Steve,
Running out of room with all the other stuff on the fenderwalls. Water/Methanol pump and tank. MSD box and remote advance control. Did not constrict it much and have 1/4 inch of clearance. Headers will be coated inside and out which really takes the heat out of them. They are 2 and 1/16 primary to 2 and 1/8 step headers. should flow like crazy! I did look at a remote filter as we are brothers in Ford fun!!

The remote filter on my Tiger is on the outside of the inner fender, behind the left headlight. Sounds like you already dimpled the tube though.

Startup of the 759 hp 511 Cubic Inch all aluminum monster!! First start and a bit fun to get it to idle. Advanced it 4 degrees and it idles like a............... Monster now!!! Exhaust next week and still need to install the mister plates for the Water/Methanol injection! May need to remove the power brakes and go manual.... Or a electric vacuum pump......
