I was just wondering about the 200HP I-6 motor. Has anyone changed the cylinder head, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, cam, carb...etc...to see how much power they can get out of that motor?

Im just curious :)

Engine HP after modifications?
Engine Torque after modifications?
Rear Wheel HP after modifications?
Rear Wheel Torque after modifcations?
Stock Engine RWHP?
STock Engine RWTorque?

Thanks
David

Back in High School I had a 6 cyl. mustang with a 3-speed. My buddy & I installed a manifold system that allowed us to mount 3 1 barrel carbs on the intake manifold. We then put on a header. The results were not impressive. We didn't do any internal mods though. For the money, I'd work with a V8. My 2 cents.

I seem to recall a drag racer back in the 70's named Chi Chi Rodriguez that was running a 300 -6 out of a truck. He custom made a head that was 1 and a half Cleveland heads, welded together with a custom intake and exhaust and was competitive at the national level. Look into that for your car.

David, here are some web sites for you to visit. My GT/CS has a 289, but my first Mustang was a '65 2+2 with 200 CID six cylinder and factory 4 speed.

This is "club" of inline engine fanatics. While majority of them are involved with GMC 6 cylinders, there are Ford guys there, too
