GT/CS guy in Palm Springs, Ca?

Many years ago I went to Palm Springs, Ca. to buy some parts from a man who had several parts cars and whole GT/CS's in his yard and carport. He had a gold one in the backyard too. Does anyone know if this man is registered on this website?
Doug, what is the difference between Sunlit Gold and Nugget?
Just wondering......

Donna,
The '68 Gold Nugget Special which is a Y5 paint code and not Y (Sunlit Gold) was a special for only the DSO 74 (Seattle) area but had the addition of "1111" behind the 74. You could get a GT/CS with the Y5 paint code. As for the difference in color, I have only seen one Gold Nugget Special while I was living in Seattle and the paint looked a darker gold than the sunlit gold. The paint color is not listed in Fords database of colors because it was a special color.

Ahhhhhh! I learn something new everyday! I have seen so few gold Mustangs and that GT/CS I saw in that back yard in Palm Springs was the first gold car I had ever seen in person. It was in fairly good shape and I sure considered it, but I guess I already had too many cars at the time. (Still wished I had bought it though).

I sure wish I could remember where that man lived. It wasn't far from downtown.

Thanks for the info Doug.

Donna,
Sunlit gold is actually the 5 out of 17 color as most popular, behind:
Lime Gold (#1 choice in color)
Candyapple Red
Acapulco Blue
Wimbledon White
Highland Green
Sunlit Gold
Meadowlark Yellow
Gulfstream Aqua....
......
Pebble Beige being the rarest at 4,687

It is coincidental that if you look at the top 5, 4 of the 5 are in the 1st 2 pages of the '68 Mustang brochure, with a Lime Gold fastback on the front cover.

Doug,

WOW!! And to think people made fun of my green. I did know that it was the most popular color for 1968.
You are a wealth of information Sir!

I wonder where my Seafoam Green CS falls in the list.. From what I'm seeing out there, I think that it was last. I think that there were only 22 in Pauls last book..
