When I got our latest unrestored HCS I noticed that it has no done light. Something every coupe that I have seen has. This car also has front floor lights. Those are only normally only found on fastbacks and convertibles.

Do any of you have this set up?

Ahh, ole knower of all that is Mustang!!! New one for me! The "interior" lighting group was a check mark? Maybe a lazy plant worker? Came down the line and the dome light bin was empty?

I didn't have a dome light when I got mine. I am in the process of adding it. Everything is there to make it work, so perhaps the car had a new headliner installed and they just failed to re-add it since the dome light socket and wring are there and it does have power. Can you tell or feel if you have the same? The other lights you speak of, No I don't have those. Interesting.

This is a original car and headliner. There is no light socket or wiring.
It is hard to believe that it got passed Ford quality control.

I thought there was an under dash lighting option for coupes?

I do not know what option that would include the under dash light on a coupe.
Lots of people add them because it is very easy to do.

You are correct I found it was part of the courtesy light group that included under dash lights on coupes, under hood and trunk lights as well as glove box light and lock. It has only the under dash lights.
There is no mention on the Marti report about a Courtesy light option.

I've never seen a '68 coupe without a dome light. My first '68 coupe was loaded with options (including the Convenience Group) had the dome light PLUS underdash courtesy lights.

I would suggest you use an LED bulb if you hook up the dome light.

A bit of irony or truth here. I checked a 1968 calendar and this car was built on Monday! I wonder how early.

Thanks everyone for your replies.
