Marchall Fog lights

Hello:
I recently purchased a set of MARCHAL FOG LIGHTS. I have a question about them.
Does the MARCHAL 653 that is imprinted on the top of the lens cover add,detract or doesnt matter as to the value of the fog lamp?
Im going to restore these and would like to know if its worth keeping the imprint on it or just going ahead and smoothing it out.

Is there any other way to prove the lights are 653s? If there is no other way then it may be wise to keep the stamps.
