Thought I'd move the Green Hornet stuff to its own thread since we seem to have derailed the 2009 color thread!

Jeff's Original Link to Hemmings

Here's another Green Hornet article from the October 1994 issue of Mustang Illustrated.

here are the other articles:

The GT/CS book I'm doing will have a comprehensive section on the GH in the appendix, with some never-before-seen photos and information.

thanks, Arlie, for setting up this thread.

Paul.

Someone should talk to Galpin about making some late model special edition Green Hornets GT/CS's. That is the kind of thing they are famous for. I know I would want to put an order in for one! Casey

Hey Casey,

Maybe while we're there at the GAS event, we can put the bug in their ear ;-)
As a think more about it, a GT/CS GH would be such a unique car to have. And who knows, if there's enough interest they might take on the project.

Also, thanks Arlie for creating this new thread and all the additional link you guys have put up on the GH...I guess I'm just as guilty of going off on a tangent as the next person.

Just my thought, too. I'm getting the specs together to present to Beau right now. I think that it would be a hot car to sell at GAS.

- Custom Green paint
- Custom white/gold stripes (GT/CS-GH )
- Painted taillight panel in argent
- Ducktail Spoiler
- KR type hood / ACSCO hood pins
- Shelby Nose (maybe)
- Lucas Lights in grille
- Shelby ten spoke wheels (late model)
- Badging
etc....

I've always thought that Galpin and GAS should sell nationally, but that could into problems with Ford dealer territory. However-- that DO sell cars on the internet., so that might be a great place to do their own limited editions.
(and you know, anyone can make one of these on their own...)

Another idea I had for them was to make a limited run of Playboy Pink Mustang convertibles, and have each one signed by a Playmate. I did some badging ideas for that, too. (not to derail THIS thread..LOL!)

Thanks so much Arlie for all that.

I guess the only one missing is this one quoted by Paul; Shelby American (magazine, SAAC), #63, 1994, pp. 35-39, by PMN. Anyone would have it

Here is a few pictures from this car at Barrett Jackson

David had the idea of the 5.4L Supercharged GT500 engine and 6 speed gear box, etc.

So, should this new GH start as a Shelby GT500? And then be modified by GAS? Or should it start as a Mustang GT? (or GT/CS)?

Well, if you went with strict tradition, it would start as a GT/CS (with the 500hp supercharger option), but you have a good point, Jeff...hmmm..

I guess it should start out as a GT-500KR.

I found the original paint chip mailed to me from the original owner--Randy Darrow (1990), and today, matched it exactly to a couple of PPG samples at a auto paint supply store.

GT-500GH?

neat idea...
