Born and raised in california for 22 years, and now moved to texas El Paso to start a new life. Looking for new friends who
have the same interests, who likes to go cruising and work on their cars and likes to go to the track. Im new here and don't know much here.

Brian, if you ever take a trip to Houston be sure to let us know. There are 6 owners and 7 GT/CSs here that I know of. Well, only 6 after Jason sells his maroon one.

You can leave that number at 7 when Jason sells his. I am in the same sitaution as BrianS, but home will be moving to Houston soon. So you can add me to the list in the Houston area.

Y'all come and visit, ya hear.
Definitely let us know when you arrive.
Y'all is the one that just kind of sneaks up on you and sits well.

The phrase "I'm fixin too" as in I'm fixin to open a can of whoop ass is another story. When I first moved to Texas I thought that was about the stupidest thing I ever heard. Now 15 years later I've caught myself using it. Sometimes it just fits ;)

If you count Conroe, there are 8 GT/CS' in the Houston area. I have a sunlit gold J car that was my grandmother's. She purchased it in Las Cruces, NM and I had it initially restored in El Paso, where I grew up. I moved to Houston 15 years ago, and I had my most recent work done by the guys at Classic Mustang.

In El Paso, look up Jerry Pena's repair shop. He did my original work, and he loves mustangs. Don't know if he's retired yet or not, but he can definitely get you in touch w/other mustangers.

I believe Jason has his sights on a BIG block that he hinted to in a past posting......

How much work are you talking about having to do if you do buy such a car?

Being a Texan by birth and raised in the South I definitely agree that "Y'all" is a great addition to the English language as a plural form of "you". Its much better than "you guys" since, as we all know and are thankful for, half the world is not guys. However, the correct usage in the South is:

Y'all is singular...
All-y'all is plural... ;)

Of course there is also, "Tuesday week". It took me forever to figure out what that meant!

For you Northerners it means, "A week from this coming Tuesday".

But don't be to hard on the Southerners. People from Minnesota have their own little quirky sayings.

The only people who speak normal are the ones from Eastern Washington, Idaho, and Eastern Oregon. ;D

I agree with you on that Arlie. I lived in Western Washington state for awhile (a block from the beach 8)) and I don`t recall that they had any weird sayings or accents. What do you think about South Dakota? Thats where I`m from, but I`ve been in Minnesota for 15 years now and have picked up that "Minnesohtahn" accent. ;D

Hello Brian,

My name is Carlos and I live on the eastside of El Paso. I'm currently in the process of restoring my GT/CS, and I could really use some pointers. Feel free to give me a call at (915)539-4935.
