I believe the California Special scripts did not use barrel nuts, just flat rectangular press on spring clips (3/32") to retain them to the panel.

The late style reflectors used a stamped flange nut, gold-ish finish with black sealer. Similar to the below.

To my knowledge you are correct. I have a small Ford bag if the 3/32 clips that came with my new ones a few years back. My old script was held on with the small square push on clips. This was when you could still get them in a Ford box. Not sure how they come now a days.

AMK sells P&O finish in a bag of 10... of course you need 12... :undecided

I found zinc dichromate ones locally, but am not sure I like the look.
