My GT/CS has a Heavy Duty Suspension as an option. Does anybody know just what this means and how it differs from a standard suspension??
Were all, most, some or just my GT/CS outfitted with this option?

If your car is truly a GT/CS it will have come with the heavy duty suspension: 1968 Gt Package

Heavy Duty Suspension

Stiffer front and rear springs

Larger front and rear shock absorbers

Larger diameter front stabilizer

Dual exhausts with chrome "quad" outlets

*GT "C" stipes

*GT pop-open gas vap

GT fender badges

F70-14 wide oval WSW tires

Slotted and painted 14-in Styled Steel wheels
with GT hubcaps and trim rings.

I know we have been through this many times, but I will reiterate. The heavy duty suspension and GT package were 2 completely different option packages, and they were both OPTIONS. Not all GT/CS had these options (if fact most did not). The Gt package listed by CalPaul is correct, but the heavy duty suspension package only included heavier springs, shocks, and front sway bar, thats it. It cost $30.64 in 1968.

Thanks,
That clears it up. I had noticed the larger swaybar but didn't know the shocks were different.

Just for those who would like to see a "True" Gt optioned 68 this is what they look like. This particular car just happens to have the "S" code 390. Sorry, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to show what a true GT big block looked like. I love these car's. This car fly's.
