Wish I had more photos of the car, but here's some info on an already sold car that looks really interesting.

So it's an option-rich car ordered for Canada in mid-May. It sat in a garage in British Columbia for decades until it was pulled out a couple years ago and bought for $2000. Then it was resold for almost ten times that much.

GT equipment group, C-5 transmission, 390 4V engine, power disc brakes, power steering. Really only missing the A/C but we can let that slide because it's Canada, right?

Marti report too. Maybe this one has already been discussed?

Wonder what happened with it?

I'm just noticing now the GT 390 graphic on the side scoops. Dang!

I can fill in a few items as I had spoken with the 2nd owner back when he sold it on Ebay.

The car was a single owner car from here in Calgary. The car sat in CALGARY ALBERTA for all its life. In fact, the car was exactly a mile from my house for the 20+ yrs I've lived here. Of course I didn't know about it since it resided in a garage!! Sheesh!! It was sold at Canada's oldest Ford dealership (Maclin Ford on Macleod Trail---Not Macleon as on Marti Report)

Anyway, British Columbia man found out about it from his Grandson and connected with owner who sold it for in the range of $2000. Car was shipped from Calgary to B.C. for future restoration. Man decided early on that he wasn't going to get to it so he sold it for about $15K on ebay. (nice turnaround I'd say!)

After that its Batgirls story to tell....

Stephen

P.S. an immersion heater is in fact a Block Heater by another name---one we don't use anymore

Sorry the Bat Signal was broken!! and the Bat phone had the ringer off LOL I loved the Utube clip BTW P51!! I miss you guys! Geeh sorry about that. P51 Thank you for the email.

So, "Gem" has been doing great, I've just been driving him and enjoying it. BUT recently developed a HUGE head exhaust leak and sounds more like a steam engine. SO! in a month or two we are going to pull the motor and start the over haul!! I have an amazing friend from England, who comes every couple months for 1 month, who will fix the rusted out rear quarter panels (from the snow driving) Remember Gem had snow tires on the rear when we got him! (Darryl is a great mechanic and body man. He can fabricate body panels from flat sheets, but I told him we will just get the pre fab pieces, so I can save $$) And the rust is not that bad, on 1 side only couple small spots.
I will take tons on pics and keep you posted on progress. Not doing concurs, as you know, I like driving and enjoying my vehicles, and I like the original stuff. I am still very much in love with this car. My heart melts when I look at it, still (ok enough of that)

PS The cord for the block heater is still attached, and has a bread tie attaching it to the grill  (that is how it came to us)

Ramping up for the motor rebuild on Gem at the end of the month. Im trying to think of everything. Right now addressing the Radiator and water pump. We are Re-coring the original radiator and I want my original water pump rebuilt.

I was about to start a thread on can it be done and by who, but we figured it out!

I like the sound of this one from WCCC:
https://secure.cougarpartscatalog.com/c8az-8501-hpa.html
Direct replacement for 1967-70 cast iron pumps. Built to cool better and last longer than any other pump. Features state of the art high efficiency impeller and NASCAR roller type bearing. Race proven for reliability and performance. Includes Gaskets.

here are others I found:
https://www.cjponyparts.com/water-pump-360-390-427-428cj/p/WP4/
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sdk-c8az-8501-a

what I really want is for Flow Kooler(the top one there from WCCC) to put their high tech stuff in my old one! So, John called them and for about $250 they will rebuild my original, I'm so excited.

Sheryl, one more thing I notice about your setup that would support the 1967 style 390GT air cleaner setup as original. The breather cap on your driver side valve cover has no outlet for a hose and it's chrome. Based on my limited knowledge, I would say it's a correct match for your current air cleaner, right? Does it say Autolite on it?

I think that Canadian DSO cars may have many differences. Sheryl, do not change a thing until you have firm proof that it is not correct!!

Here are some of the diagrams from the Mustang Restoration Guide. Maybe some of them will be relevant to your setup, Sheryl :)
