WCCC A/C Bearing replacement service

All that we can do is the bearing replacement, we aren't painting or restoring. I can't guarantee if powder coating won't get damaged during the process. Pre-painted brackets and pulleys do get scratched during the pressing.

This guy will rebuild your pump, or you can buy the parts from him and rebuild it yourself. They are very simple devices.

sent parts to this shop. Talked to him on the phone before hand. Now don't know if the parts made it. Won't answer the phone. Won't email me back. Live and learn. Anybody in San Antonio?

What you have described is what I have hear about them. I guess they do pretty good work but the customer service stinks. Most any machine shop can rebuild them.

Apparently I'm wrong about this business. I was offshore and i didn't check my messages. He had called me back twice and left a message. I spoke to them and they have my parts and are working on them.

Whodat's build thread

I have the engine bay just about completely stripped of the paint. What would be the best type of coatings to use and what finish color?

I emailed the chrome shop in Santa Ana they have my seat post guide tubes for 3 months now and said it could be a couple more months. I called Stangers Site again for a update and no response. So looks like the cruise season is over for me this year. Do your home work before sending parts out for service. I know I will in the future. This is why I was considering Rack and Pinion because I cant get answers on my steering box and pump.

I would consider a Borgeson conversion over a rack. The Mustangs I have drove with a rack seem a bit "darty" to coin a new word. The Borgeson feels like a very tight and nice PS car with a lot less hoses and other things to leak.

Although recently a local restorer had some trouble with a Borgeson pump that leaked and a steering box that was to tight and would not center itself so to speak. He had to send it back, but got one that works just great. I put one on my friends 1966 Fairlane vert and it is excellent. Nice tight feel, but not over responsive like a rack.

Rob, did they go with a stock pump or the after market one that Borgeson offers?

I've heard rumors that the stock pump doesn't work very well at lower speeds.

Thanks,
Bret

By the way, the standard Borgeson pump is a GM unit.

Thanks,

Brett,
That is correct. And it is a GM pump as Arlie says. For some that can be a deal breaker!!

I may just wait for the original parts to come back. And spend the money on my A/C. Its funny everytime I post about the rebuilder he calls that day and gives me a update. Could he be a member?
