Factory Tilt-away steering setup

Hi everyone,
I'm in the process of purchasing a factory tilt-away steering setup and wanted to know if any of you have done it or if you know of a step by step reference guide I can use to install mine? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Cesar,
A friend of mine, Bob Wolfe, is an experienced Mustang restorer and has done multiple repairs and conversions of tilt away steering. His phone number is (360) 377-0450. Mention my name and he would be glad to help you through this.

I have done it several times a currently have 3 cars with tilt.
I am sure we can help you through it.
First you need to be sure you are buying a 68 system, 67s and 69s are different.

Thanks for the info, especially the heads up buying to correct system. I was under the impression they were all the same. By chance do you have the part numbers that are compatible with our cars?

The 68 part numbers would start with C8ZZ. The 67 column has vacuum motor mounted on the column and has a solid release rod. The 68 and 69 column vacuum motors are mounted on a bracket that is attached to the dash and uses a cable to release the column. The difference between the 68 and 69 is the bracket design that attaches it to the dash.

One other thing be sure that you get the rag joint coupler that that attaches the column to the gear box as it is unique to the tilt column, it can be tough to find.
