Don't know if we want to make this a sticky thread but thought it would be interesting to post in one thread sightings in books, mags, tv, etc ...

I suppose we could do another thread on real world sightings as well.

So here's mine ...

I was watching a show my brother put on DVD for me a number of months ago. Just got around to watch it.
It was originally on Discovery Channel I think. It was called Mustangs Across America - 40th Anniversary Celebration" or something like that.
Anyway - it was a show about a caravan of Mustangs that ran from LA to Nashville for the 40th celebration.
There was one point near the end where all of the cars were in a town and they were showing all the cars driving around in the streets and parking lots. There is a rear end shot of an Acapulco Blue GT/CS getting ready to move into traffic.

I must have made some kind of odd noise when I saw the GT/CS because my wife ran into the room and asked "What's wrong????"

Not sure if anyone else has seen this or if it was someone from the site. I should try to figure out how to capture the few seconds and post it here but not sure if I can. Didn't see another thread on this so thought I'd pass it along.

Also saw that Red, White and Blue Mustang commercial Paul N was talking about with the white GT/CS in it this weekend.

UPDATE: I found a site with the video.
http://www.mustangsacrossamerica.com/h_events/st-04videoarch.htm

Look at Clip 31 it's right at the beginning. Don't blink or you'll miss it!

Can someone grab a screenshot of it and post it? I know I need to change a setting on my PC to do it but it's not working.

Good Idea, Rich!!

The current ad for the Pony Package "went national", beyond the Calif. Ford dealers last week. As an FYI--if you asked for the "Pony Pkg." , the Pony grille assembly is not available. That's why you don't see it on the middle white GT/CS in the TV ad.

I documented the newspaper print ads for the GT/CS, and that info will be in the book, but I'd like to see what is out there in some other states (Utah, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, etc.). There is a 1968 radio ad "outwhere somewhere" about the GT/CS, aired during mid-Feb. it had "bossa-nova" music and talked about how this new Mustang had "wicked" side scoops.

I'd sure like a list of magazines with the late model GT/CS mentioned, photos, etc. Whomever out there that has those magazines (Modified Mustangs, 5.0, Mustangs & Fast Fords, etc.), a list with issue, page number, photos (?), etc., would be greatly appreciated.

On this site--someone found a (postcard) photo of a Sacto. Ford Dealership with a GT/CS banner on the wall.

This is another great idea, Rich! Thanks for thinkin it up. But next time, don't freak out your wife....AAHH!! LOL!

That would be me that found that picture of the dealer with the banner. It's in my gallery of Ford Dealership pictures.

Here it is again as well.

While in Borders Books the other day was checking out some car books and found some references to California Specials and High Country Specials.

One was this one - Mustang Special Editions

GT/CS on My Classic Car

I was watching the My Classic Car that was broadcast on 7/30 on my DVR tonight.

It was the one where they covered the Wildwood, NJ Boardwalk Car Show.

While filming the cars lined up on the boardwalk, they finish one pass on a Red GT/CS with black stripes and a black vinyl top.

Is it someone from the site?

Here is a link to the picture. In case this doesn't work I'll attach it too.

I was hoping this was someone from the site and we had another Northeast CS represented.

Wildwood is about 4-5 hours from me but it seemed people travelled pretty far for that show.
