How Many No. & So. Calif. GT/CS owners?

I bought mine 29 years ago while I was living in LA. I'm the second or maybe the third owner. Since then, it has lived in West LA, San Diego, Santa Barbara and now is with me in the San Jose area. It is currently undergoing a "de-mothballing" as it had not been run consistently for about...

Correct PPG Paint for the GT/CS Grill Found

Robert, Based on the on-line description, I ordered a can of the #3 variety. Probably won't get it until next week, and I'll see how it looks then. Tom

Found another CS on ebay(nice one)

20 years? A mere drop in the bucket. As of next year I will have owned mine for 30 years: It was the first car I ever bought when I turned 16 in 1975! Boy do I feel old now :P Anyway, my 390 2V should be coming back from the engine rebuilder THIS WEEK! New pistons, new crank, new...

    Front Grille

I just ordered and received one from Dallas Mustang, and I like the part and their service. Per guidlines on this site I ordered the '67 standard grille instead of a '68. http://www.dallasmustang.com/index.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=1836&Category_Code=E_Exterior_Grilles Tom

    Black A code

Mine is black on black. In fact in high school (many moons ago) they used to call my car "the Batmobile". Unfortunately, I am too ashamed to take any photos of it right now as it is undergoing its restoration. Engine should soon be rebuilt, then fog lamps added (they were stolen off of it in...

    fuel pump replacement on 390

Richard, I just did this job a couple of months back - Although I only had the PS pump to worry about, and no A/C. I tried from above and below, and found that I could only accomplish it from above. I did not need to loosen, move or remove my PS pump to get the job done. Maybe, therefore, you...

    Pedestal dimensions?

I don't know whether you are looking to reproduce these for sale or just need a set? I just got a set from Bob Teets (hicountrybob) and they were very complete, very accurate, high quality and a very good price. I would contact him directly if you are looking for pedestals. Tom

    1968 S-code 390ci GT/CS for sale

Boy, that one really is special: It has sequential rear tail signals (maybe its really a Cougar?), and they can't decide in their ad whether that 390 motor is a V8 or a V6. Sounds like these guys don't really know much about the car, other than they want quite a nice sum for it. Tom

    Anyone Heard from hicountrybob lately?

NEVER MIND... Thanks for the e-mail, Bob. Tom

    Anyone Heard from hicountrybob lately?

I recently e-mailed him about the fog lamp pedestals he listed in the Classifieds section back in May (I think), and have not heard back from him. Maybe he's on vacation or out of stock... Tom

    De-Mothballing, Part Deux (LONG)

Well, I joined this board and made my first posts earlier this year. At that time I was wondering what to do with my CS, which had been in storage in the garage for the last 15 years. It is the first car I ever bought in 1975 while in High School. It is black on black with an x-code 390 2v...

    Wanted Marchal Fog Lamps

Regarding the Marchal Fog Lamps used in the GT/CS: 1) The site referenced shows 3 different models - TP 651, 653 and 656. Which of these were used on the GT/CS? 2) Were the Marchal Fog Lamps attached to the grill, or might they also have been pedestal mounted like the Lucas lights. Tom

    X-Code Engine

I just got my Marti report on my X-Code GT/CS. Scheduled for build March 25, but actually produced April 30 - thirty-six days behind schedule.

    Lucas Fog Light Pedestal Set

I would be interested in a set. After my first post earlier this week, I have a renewed enthusiasm to get my girl back onto the road. We'll see how far a re-built carb, a new master cylinder and a nice brake bleeding takes me this weekend.

Need Advice - Please Be Gentle On Me

Thanks for all of your great replies. I guess that it was just laziness on my part when I spoke about getting rid of the car "as-is". That, and the fact that working on it is no longer my principal hobby. I am now more enthused to "de-mothball" (great phrase ;)) it myself, get it back on the...
