To be factory-correct the tail light panel should be painted the same color as the rest of the body. It should not be painted the Shelby argent (silver) color.

The tail light bezels (doors) should be all chrome with no black edges.

The photo on the left is of a correct setup.

Here is a closeup of my tail light panel and bezel to help make the point.

I followed the advice of lacquer thinner & 000 steel wool to remove the black painted border on the tail light frame. It worked like a champ!! It only took about 15 minutes per unit. Good advice. Thanks,
